About Sundar Kand

Sundar Kand is the fifth book of the Ramayana. In the Valmiki Ramayana and the Ramcharitmanas of Tulsidas, it describes Hanuman’s leap across the ocean to Lanka, his search for Sita, his meeting with her in the Ashok Vatika, and his destruction of parts of the city before returning to report to Lord Rama.
