- They reflect the Akhand Bharat concept. The Shakti Peethas are located not just in India but also in countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. This reflects the cultural continuity of the Indian subcontinent.
- They house important temple complexes. Many of the Shakti Peethas are ancient temples that house important idols and are centers of pilgrimage. For example, Kamakhya Devi temple, Kalighat Kali temple, etc.
- They signify the amalgamation of Hinduism. Many local goddesses who were worshipped at these locations came to be identified as forms of the goddess associated with that Shakti Peetha. This led to the amalgamation of various local cults into mainstream Hinduism.
